Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican-American sportscaster. She is an ESPN anchor for news and also hosts SportsNation at times. She joined ESPN in 2016. Her mother is the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been bilingual since she was nine years old. It was a helpful skill that helped her secure her first job as a production assistant with Univision in Miami where she had the chance to collaborate with producers of national programming like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then she was offered the position of a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. She was born on 22nd November 1984 in Mexico City. Her sister is also there. The family in 1992 relocated from Mexico and relocated to Miami. Their divorce was soon followed in 1995. Her mother was remarried to one of the naval architects named Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in 2006. The break in summer that she spent with her younger sister living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured a job. A senior at high school, but with a clear idea what she would like to accomplish in her future, Antonietta attended at the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her preferences. In the end, she loved the campus and it offered the degree she was looking for. She finished school and enrolled in the university with a major in media studies. Her instructor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was participant in her class built a relationship that lasted for a lifetime with the student. The passion he had for journalism as well as the confidence she had in herself encouraged her. She in turn was determined to achieve his expectations and never disappoint him.
