A native from Puyallup Washington Butler was interested in the arts while growing up. She performed on stage as well as in the school. She studied at the University of Southern California and relocated to Los Angeles where she played Belle the beautiful and beast princess in Disneyland for about one year and a half. Then she left school to search for an agent. She then began doing auditions and appearing on TV as well as film. Butler played a part in the TV series CSI: Miami. Butler was featured during the same year in the web series Luke 11:17 produced by Don Stark. Butler had a role on I Love Vampires and a recurring one on Luke 11:17. She was awarded the title of I Spit on Your Grave which is a remake of the 1978 film of the same title. The film initially was she was a bit hesitant because of the violence, nakedness as well as feminist subtexts.
